Multi-trip activity levels

Activies/sports covered by each level of Multi trip policy. If your activity is not mentioned please complete an enquiry form requesting cover.

Note: multi trip policies are not available for military exercises, travel to Antarctica or polar expeditions, mountaineering over 7500m, motor sports or aerial sports including flying and sky diving, major international competitions competing as a GB team representative, manual work of any nature unless agreed by the underwriters, record breaking attempts, film making, stunts or activities not listed and agreed by the underwriters as being insured.

Note: Skiing and mountain biking competitions can only be covered under single trip policies.

  • Horse riding including pony/horse/camel treks (excluding hunting, polo and competitive riding)
  • Motor cycle touring
  • MTB on marked tracks and trails
  • Orienteering
  • Pot holing & caving (e.g. in previously explored systems where there is an organised local cave rescue service)
  • Running and triathlons

Mountain sports

  • Abseiling
  • Bouldering
  • Scrambling
  • Single pitch and bolted sport climbing
  • Summer hill walking (e.g. Tour de Mont Blanc) including alpine hut to hut
  • Via ferrata

Water sports

  • Canadian canoeing
  • Coastal and dinghy sailing
  • Flat water canoeing
  • Flotilla sailing
  • Rowing
  • Scuba diving to 40m
  • Sea and surf kayaking
  • Surfing
  • Swimming treks

Winter sports

Multi sport – max adventure

Bike and Leisure sports

  • Dog sledging
  • Exploratory pot holing & caving including cave diving (where there is an organised local cave rescue service)
  • High altitude motor cycle or MTB treks
  • MTB track & trail competitive events and cycle tour road race events

Mountain sports

  • Big wall climbing (multi day ascents)
  • Glacial crossings
  • High altitude walking in the greater ranges (e.g. Nepal, South America) or hill walking in winter conditions (including snow shoeing)
  • Multi pitched climbing with leader placed protection

Water sports

  • Canyoning
  • Coasteering
  • Hydro-speeding
  • Kite surfing
  • Rafting
  • River wilderness expeditions
  • Sailing regattas
  • Scuba diving to depths exceeding 40m

Winter sports

  • upto 4 weeks of winter sports activities as above plus – lift served freeride, back country touring, heli & snowcat skiing. (See, winter sports descriptions)

Multi sport – extreme adventure

Bike and Leisure sports

  • Downhill MTB (i.e. off tracks and trails)
  • Exploratory pot holing & caving in remote areas (where any rescue would be self organised by expedition members)
  • Mountain marathons and adventure races (organised amateur events only)

Mountain sports

  • Alpine mountaineering upto 7000m
  • Designated trekking peaks upto 6500m
  • Ice climbing

Water sports

  • Graded white water kayaking

Winter sports

  • Cresta or bob sleigh (excluding organized competitions)
  • Includes unlimited winter sports activities as above plus – ski mountaineering upto 6500m (See, winter sports descriptions)

Multi sport – expedition

Mountaineering over 7000m and Expeditions to remote or inaccessible regions in Asia, South America, Greenland, Alaska – please do not buy this policy before completing an expedition questionnaire which is required pre quote and is available by email – assistance@snowcard.co.uk.

Before buying cover you must declare to Snowcard your trip itinerary as some expeditions may fall outside of our acceptance criteria. We do not cover expeditions within the Arctic Circle or Antarctica, mountaineering over 7500m or military expeditions.

Multi sport – Guiding and instructing

Working as a guide or instructor. Note cover does not include professional liability for the advice you give, only your own personal emergency expenses.

Regardless of the activity level you select all policies cover the following:

  • £10 million: Emergency medical and other expenses cover
  • Including repatriation to the United Kingdom
  • Up to £500: Physiotherapy and dental treatment cover
  • Up to £250: Early return home benefit
  • Up to £250: Car hire return benefit
  • Up to £100,000: Search & Rescue expenses
  • Up to £300: Ski/Dive/Golf/ activity Pack
  • Up to £1000: Hospital benefit
  • Up to £25,000: Personal Accident cover
  • Up to £2 million: Personal Liability cover
