Activity type

Lower risk activities are at the top of the drop down list, higher risks at the bottom. You are automatically covered for all activities lower than your selection.

Your age

Select the age bracket of the oldest person on the policy. Higher rates apply to persons over the age of 65. Separate policies should be taken for older group members which will reduce the premium for younger members.

Duration

Enter the date you depart from home in the United Kingdom. You must NOT start a policy either part way through a trip or after you have left the United Kingdom. Then select the number of days of your trip. Ensure the return date matches the date you arrive back at home in the UK and not before.

Baggage

You can insure your baggage upto £3000. Sports and electronic equipment are covered separately. Covers bags, clothing, toiletries, footwear (ski/climbing boots are covered by equipment), valuables (jewellery, furs, gold, silver items, watches – limited to £350).

Sports equipment

Sports equipment is activity equipment necessary for the pursuit of an insured activity. It includes avalanche transceivers, GPS, dive computers, sat phones. Clothing is covered under the baggage option. You can insure equipment up to £3000.

Techno pack

For cameras and electrical equipment, e.g. mp3s, video consoles, laptops and mobile phones but NOT avalanche transceivers, GPS, dive computers & sat phones which are covered by the Sports equipment option. You can insure Techno pack items up to £2000.

Cancellations

For lost travel and accommodation expenses if you have to cancel a holiday or cut it short because of injury or illness. Includes travel delay and missed departure but only if this section is selected. You can insure cancellation expenses up to £5000.

Excess

The standard policy excess you have to pay in the event of a claim is £50. You can elect to waive or carry a higher excess which will reduce your premium but ensure it is not higher than any sum insured you select. The policy excess is applicable per person, per claim under each section of the policy.
