WEB SITE SECURITY

Snowcard takes every precaution to protect your data. Your personal information is encrypted before being transmitted over the Internet and is only shown on secure pages.

The information on all secure pages is transmitted over a secure connection using SSL, the industry standard encryption software approved by the IETF. We are using high grade 128 bit encryption.

Encryption makes it very difficult for unauthorised people to view information travelling between computers. It is therefore very unlikely that anyone will read the secure pages of this web site as they travelled across the network.

Snowcard holds a current site security certificate giving you peace of mind that your personal data is secure. We do not share or give your data to any third parties and the information you supply is only used to process your policy and allow Snowcard to contact you relating to our services and your account.

When you pay for your policy Snowcard do not store or have access to your payment card information. Your payment card details are only used on the Stripe site which accepts payments on our behalf.

If you have any questions or concerns relating to Snowcard’s web site security please email [email protected].

ONLINE DEBIT/CREDIT CARD SECURITY

The MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa services have been introduced by Mastercard/Maestro and Visa in conjunction with the bank that issued your credit/debit card. If the card you are using to pay for our services is part of the scheme, when you have entered your card details on the Stripe payment page, you will be taken to a page hosted by your card issuer. This process will only be visible to you and your card issuer, and is completely secure.

From this point you will either:

  • Be asked to register with either Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode, you will need to follow the on-screen instructions to register securely and select a password for your card. (If you have concerns about this new service, your card issuer may allow you to continue without registering but we recommend you contact your card issuer to find out about this service as they will eventually require you to register to continue paying online.)
  • Be prompted to enter your personal code/password if you have previously registered with your card issuer.
  • Continue with the payment process if your card issuer is not participating in the scheme.

After you have selected one of the above options, you will be brought back to the Stripe web site to complete your purchase.

Unfortunately we will be unable to answer customer questions directly, and so all queries relating to Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode should be made directly to your card issuer. We recommend that to avoid any possible problems with paying for your purchase online, you register for 3D Secure directly with your card issuer beforehand. You can register your card by going directly onto your Card Issuer’s website and searching for either Credit Card Security or 3D Secure or alternatively by clicking on the respective links below. You can also contact your card issuer directly for more advice on registering.
