Snowcard insurance is not only for mountain or snow based activities - we also specialise and have extensive experience in scuba diving holiday insurance.
With a Snowcard policy, you can enjoy your scuba adventure with peace of mind and expert cover from one of the longest running specialists in activity holiday travel insurance.
As with all of our policies, when you choose to take out scuba travel insurance with Snowcard you're in control, with the flexibility to choose your own cover levels for baggage, dive equipment, cancellation and policy excess, you only pay for additional cover that you really need.
Unlike many standard travel policies which will only cover you to dive to a depth of 20 or 30 meters, Snowcard provides cover for diving to any depth within your diving qualifications. That’s why as long as you have the appropriate training or are undertaking a recognised course for the required depth you need and choose the appropriate level of cover for the activities covered on your diving holiday, then cover is available for diving to depths exceeding 40 meters.
If you are planning on taking your own equipment with you our travel insurance including scuba diving can be adjusted to cover up to £3,000 dive equipment cover in addition to general personal baggage. Most general policies will only provide limited cover for personal belongings and exclude dive equipment.
Snowcard policies can be tailored to meet your personal needs using our unique quotation tool which allows you to fully customise the following cover levels to match your requirements.
Emergency Medical Expenses, Rescue & Repatriation up £10 million (automatically included on all policies and includes DECOMPRESSION cover)
- Personal Liability
- Personal Accident
- Baggage and personal belongings (from £0 to £3,000)

Why You Need Scuba Diving Holiday Insurance with Snowcard
Scuba diving is a fantastic experience, an opportunity to explore stunning ecosystems, exotic sea life and of course, parts of the world that many never get to see. It’s important to remember, however, that scuba diving has associated risks and injuries do happen, particularly relating to decompression related illness which is the most common cause of claims for scuba divers.
With Snowcard scuba diving travel insurance it’s reassuring to know that emergency medical treatment following decompression illness or sickness is included automatically under the Medical and Emergency expenses section of your Snowcard diving travel insurance policy.
Standard Travel Insurance Including Scuba Diving - Am I Covered?
Always be wary when taking out standard travel insurance as although it might include scuba diving there is no guarantee the insurer will have the depth (no pun intended!) of experience to deal with the complexities of managing and repatriating divers from around the world. The depth that you are covered to dive to is another important consideration, and this may differ between insurers. Many will only cover diving to Open Water qualification depths which is limiting for Advanced qualification or above divers.
With this in mind also remember that while our premiums are competitively priced, being the cheapest does not always mean that you’re getting the best level of cover.
Most importantly, with a Snowcard policy you will be pleased to know that our scuba travel insurance policies offer one of the most advanced and specialist claims and assistance teams, with an award winning service underwritten by Ageas Insurance who in partnership with Snowcard have over 25 years of specialist experience in dealing with scuba diving emergencies.
At Snowcard we understand the requirements of our clients as adventure travellers, and as such we provide what we believe to be one of the best scuba diving policies in the UK.
